“The creation continues incessantly through the media of man. But man does not create…he discovers. Those who look for the laws of Nature as a support for their new works collaborate with the creator. Copiers do not collaborate. Because of this, originality consists in returning to the origin”. Antoni Gaudi
Monika Szopinska:
Monika is interested in expressing beauty through photography. Influenced and moved by visiting some of the greatest museums and galleries of Western Art, including the Louvre, Center Pompidou, Metropolitan Museum, Smithsonian, British Museum, Tate, Tate Modern, Museums of Rodin and Picasso, and The Dalí Theatre-Museum Monika developed her sense of aesthetic and the appreciation of colour, form and light. She further draws inspiration from spending countless hours observing Nature.
Through the generous support of Workman Arts, Monika has exhibited her work publicly and she has participated in various training. She exhibited her photography in Being Seen Exhibitions, CONTACT, and Queen Street Art Crawl. Her videos have screened at the Toronto Urban Film Festival, the Rendezvous with Madness Film Festival, Nuit Blanche 2011, and as part of a 2011 feature documentary film: “Faceless.”
Monika’s interested is in finding beauty and sharing it with others.
She is grateful to the continued support she has received from
Workman Arts, her family and friends.
